Rolls-Royce Phantom V
1965 Park Ward Limousine
The Rolls-Royce Phantom V was introduced in 1959, evolved finally into the Phantom VI and continued in production until 1991. This was the last Rolls Royce to be built on a separate chassis and was developed from the successful Silver Cloud running gear. Bodywork was provided by either the Rolls-Royce Park Ward Willesden factory, or by James Young of Bromley.
Intended to be used by Heads of State, Diplomats and the very rich, a total of 889 cars were produced: 516 Phantom V and 373 Phantom VI.
Our Park Ward Phantom V car is finished in dark green (which appears black) with tan leather hide interior.
The leather trim of any Rolls-Royce is special and the maturing smell of this original car is wonderful.
It was said of the Silver Cloud that its engine was “silent,” and this is quite true when idling and cruising when you are in the car. The Phantom V is the ultimate embodiment of this and is serene, graceful and elegant as it glides effortlessly to your destination.
When power is required, the engine responds, sounding like a distant electric motor. Wind noise is minimal. So, the magic carpet quiet ride in the Phantom V will, in every sense, take you to “another place”.
